New Brunswick-based Lieff Salonius joins Global’s growing team of fundraising experts in Atlantic Canada

From small shops to large post-secondaries, Lieff Salonius’ spectrum of experience is vast and impressive. A New Brunswick native, Lieff is announcing her appointment as Senior Consultant with Global Philanthropic Canada. She is known as a changemaker thriving on an organization’s growth and transition as opportunities to level up capacity, influence and longevity through philanthropy.

Lieff has over twenty years of experience in Canadian fund development, communications and marketing for the arts, cultural institutions, science centres and museums. She has  helped raised over $32 million for capital campaigns and development projects. Lieff managed philanthropic and sponsorship research, evaluation and relationship management for events, program and capital campaigns at Mount Royal University, Confederation Centre of the Arts and Science East Science Centre, where she managed development and communications until June 2022.

“I’m honoured to join the incredible Global team,” shares Lieff. “Philanthropy is a conversation with the heart and mind. As consultants, we witness the passion and dreams of people across Canada who are building communities. Together, we create places for solace, play and education, and new ways to connect to our world and each other. It is my great joy to support the nonprofit sector and its deeply important impact on the world we share. I’m excited to bring the Global team’s energy and excellence to New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. Let’s go!”

At Science East Science Centre, she collaborated with leadership to plan and execute major capital projects in accessibility, and heritage renewal and funding for technology enhancements, exhibits, national and local public events, and new programs. Together with the board of directors, she was directly engaged in the development of a master plan, feasibility study, community needs assessment and key interviews. She developed skills in public science communication and applied these to spark the enthusiasm of contributors in supporting experiential science as a means to nurture innovative thinking.

“I am delighted to welcome Lieff to our growing Atlantic team and to renew our presence in New Brunswick,” adds Stacey Scott-Nykolyshyn, Vice President, Atlantic and Senior Consultant. “Lieff’s development communications experience in arts and cultural organizations and science centres as education partners adds to the breadth and depth of our collective and will benefit the creative executive teams we have the privilege to partner with and serve.”

Guy Mallabone, CEO & President of Global Philanthropic Canada shares Stacey’s delight, saying, “Welcoming Lieff to the Global team is thrilling. Her understanding of the uniqueness of the local market, her personal history in New Brunswick, and her expertise in fundraising will be a huge benefit to our non-profit clients in the region.”

Lieff has an M.A. in Communication Studies (University of Calgary) and a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology (University of New Brunswick); and certificate in visual arts, New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD). She was a board member of the Canadian Association of Science Centres, Canadian Women in Communications (Calgary chapter) and a member of several committees at the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.
