Joining Global in 2024, Lieff has spend over two decades in consultant and management roles in philanthropy. She has a passion for connecting enthusiastic advocates for innovative new projects to support welcoming, creative and equitable communities. Born and raised in New Brunswick, she returned permanently to the province in 2008.
Her clients and organizations include the Canadian AIDS Society (Ottawa), Horizon Housing (Calgary), Mount Royal University (Calgary), Confederation Centre of the Arts (Charlottetown), New Brunswick Film and Science East Science Centre (Fredericton). She brings a full spectrum of philanthropic experience from prospect research to planned giving and endowment. She has excelled in both small shop development offices and large post-secondary educational institutions.
She was a board member of the Canadian Association of Science Centres, Canadian Women in Communications (Calgary chapter) and committee member of at the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce. She currently sits on the board of the Fredericton’s Speaker’s Corner development initiative.
She has helped to raise over $32 million through philanthropic donations, grants, sponsorships and program marketing in Canada.
Lieff has an M.A. in Communication Studies (Univ. of Calgary) and a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology (UNB); and certificate in visual arts, New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD).
Fun fact: Lieff enjoys nature in all seasons on cross-country skis, snowshoes, and on foot. She keeps a bit of nature in her house too: a discrete vermiculture bin that looks like a modern Scandinavian side table.
