Government Relations specialist Jason Muscant appointed Senior Consultant in Ottawa

Ottawa’s Jason Muscant has joined the expanding team of fundraising experts with Global Philanthropic Canada. Appointed Senior Consultant on February 1, 2025, Jason has been knee-deep in philanthropy for over two decades.

“I’ve always been inspired by organizations committed to leaving a lasting impact in their community,” shares Jason. “That’s why I’m so proud to be joining the Global family and look forward to collaborating with the best fundraising minds in the country to elevate charitable mission, whenever and wherever we can.”

Based in Ottawa, Jason is adept at scaling organizations to meet the challenges of the day.  A passionate bilingual (French & English) communicator and storyteller, Jason excels at transforming complex material into simple, impactful messaging that supports mission and drives revenue. As a seasoned philanthropy professional, Jason’s expertise at building relationships has helped numerous organizations achieve financial success in some of our most challenging times.

Jason believes that donors never give their money away. Instead, they invest their money into hopes, dreams, and the people they believe will help fulfill them.  When working with clients, he seeks creative, customized fundraising solutions that help bring these dreams to fruition.  In doing so, Jason draws on his unique blend of experience in philanthropy, government relations, communications and strategic planning.

“I am delighted to have someone with Jason’s background and experience join the Global team,” shares Guy Mallabone, CEO & President of Global Philanthropic Canada.  “His combination of experience with government relations combined with fundraising will tremendously benefit our clients nationwide.”

“I am pleased to have Jason join our Ontario team of Senior Consultants,” shares Dora Boylen-Pabst, Vice President, Ontario. “His experience and home base of Ottawa will be a tremendous asset to our expanding activity in eastern Ontario.”

Jason holds a Master’s degree in Political Theory from Carleton University, and is a graduate of Concordia University’s Liberal Arts College.  He has held Senior positions at JFS-Vancouver, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and the Metis Nation Saskatchewan.

Starting in February, Jason offers non-profits a complimentary 30-minute session to assess effective solutions to their most pressing challenges. You can also access Jason’s article, “Making Philanthropy Resilient Again…?” here.
