December is a time for celebration and merrymaking as the Global team welcomes Lindsay McDermott into their fundraising community as Senior Consultant in Ontario. Based in London, Lindsay is renowned as a passionate fundraising leader. With over two decades of on-the-ground experience, she is driven to lead calculated strategic growth plans for non-profits across Canada. Her expertise lies in aligning mission-driven initiatives with funder priorities to unlock sustainable, transformational outcomes.
With a career rooted in community service and enriched by global travel and volunteerism, Lindsay has cultivated deep sector knowledge spanning healthcare, community development, youth engagement, social innovation, and animal welfare. She is known for her authentic, relationship-centred approach—building trust with boards, clients, and colleagues while translating passion into purpose through compelling donor experiences.
“I am so pleased to have Lindsay join the Ontario Team,” says Dora Boylen-Pabst, Vice President, Ontario. “Her regional and sector experience, especially in the animal welfare space, will be of great benefit to our team and future clients.”
“I’m thrilled to welcome Lindsay to the Global community,” adds Guy Mallabone, CEO & President of Global Philanthropic Canada. “Her experience, professionalism and passion for strengthening philanthropy make her an exceptional addition to our team. Her insights and connections in the London area will greatly benefit the organizations we serve.”
Her portfolio has generated over $23 million for community-based organizations in roles including national grant management at CNIB, major gift program development at the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, and capital campaign leadership for Humane Society London & Middlesex—raising funds in under two years to construct a new animal shelter. Her recent engagements include:
- Capital campaign strategy and counsel for small to mid-sized charities
- Interim philanthropic leadership and organizational capacity building
- Fundraising strategy design for grassroots arts organizations
- Year-end appeal execution for youth-focused nonprofits
As a trusted advisor, Lindsay partners with organizations to optimize revenue, streamline systems, and build scalable fundraising programs that can be seamlessly integrated for internal capacity building. Lindsay brings integrity, insight, and a collaborative spirit to every project she pursues. Outside of work, she finds joy in nature with her family and is inspired by live music, travel, sustainable fashion and her incredible circle of friends.
Lindsay is energized and ready to get to work alongside non-profits large and small, adding, “Joining a team of fundraising professionals with such deep expertise and a collaborative spirit is truly energizing. I look forward to channeling this collective strength into meaningful partnerships – crafting strategies that help organizations achieve transformative impact.”
Starting in December, Lindsay offers non-profits a complimentary 30-minute session to assess effective solutions to their most pressing challenges.
