New Canadian research from Global Philanthropic Canada on the risks of underinvesting in fundraising capacity.
Playing it safe can be surprisingly expensive. The Cost of Caution looks at what happens when nonprofit organizations postpone investment in fundraising, even when the need for growth is clear. Backed by Canadian survey data and real organizational stories, this report shows why waiting can cost more than acting, and what leaders can do next.
Key findings
92% of respondents said that investing more in fundraising would meaningfully improve their organization’s financial sustainability.
82% said they had already missed fundraising opportunities because they lacked the resources or capacity to pursue them.
71% said their organization has a clear plan to increase fundraising investment compared with two years ago, showing that intent is growing even where readiness may still lag.
Whether your organization is just starting to build fundraising capacity or looking to strengthen an existing program, this report offers practical insight into what helps investment succeed and where to begin. Global Philanthropic Canada works with organizations across the country to build the strategy, infrastructure, and confidence needed for sustainable fundraising growth.
