Global Philanthropic Canada has appointed a well-respected fundraising professional, Lawrence Prout, as Senior Consultant effective December 10, 2021. Lawrence is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Lawrence has two decades of experience in the not for profit and charitable sectors, most recently as President & CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. A significant achievement was building and leading a team and exceeding all targets established under a five-year strategic plan for the Foundation incorporating annual giving, planned giving, monthly giving, major gifts, and special events.

Lawrence’s background also includes key roles in capital campaigns, major gifts, and communications, including being the Director of Development at St. Mary’s Academy, a private school in Winnipeg. He was also the Director of Major Gifts at St. Boniface General Hospital Foundation. Lawrence has been responsible for raising over $80 million for organizations. He has also held positions in federal and provincial politics.
He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Education Certificate from the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba. Lawrence holds a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation, Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and a Fundraising Management Certificate from the Association of Healthcare Professionals (AHP). In 2012, Lawrence was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for services to the community.
