Major Gift expert, Derek Fraser, appointed Senior Consultant in Calgary

Global Philanthropic Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Fraser as Senior Consultant in the Prairies region. Based in Calgary, Derek is a fundraising expert with boundless energy and an unforgettable, enthusiastic personality. Combined with extensive international major gift expertise, from the United States to Bermuda, from the United Kingdom to Hong Kong, China, Korea and Taiwan; Derek has amassed a wealth of knowledge that will serve him well in assisting you with your organization’s fundraising goals.

From grassroots efforts to multi-million-dollar campaigns, his entrepreneurial approach enables him to thrive equally in small development offices and larger advancement operations. He brings broad-based perspectives and international expertise to assessments, plan development, implementation, and counsel.

A recipient of the Gold Standard of The Duke of Edinburgh Award and the prestigious CAISAP Sam Heaman Award for his contributions to independent school philanthropy in Canada, Derek is also a Past President of AFP Calgary and Area Chapter, Past Chair of the AFP Canadian Council (predecessor of AFP Canada), and past Director of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy-Canada.

Derek recently began a second tour of Board service with the AFP Calgary and Area Chapter. He serves as a national mentor for artsVest, a mentoring program with Business in the Arts and continues to serve as the Class Agent for the Class of 1979 at Ridley College.
