Trust, Culture & Care: Global Appoints Vancouver’s Christina Panis as Senior Consultant

When you meet Christina Panis, her joy for fundraising is instantly contagious. She lights up when guiding non-profit teams through the donor journey. With energy, empathy and vision, Christina helps organizations dream big and build long-term strategies rooted in trust, culture, and care.

Joining Global in September, she brings two decades of experience and an unshakable commitment to equity, inclusion and community-driven impact. Based in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, she is a proud second-generation Filipino-Canadian woman and a collaborative, values-led leader in the non-profit sector. We’re thrilled—and incredibly proud—to welcome her to the Global family.

“What excites me most about this partnership is the opportunity to work with organizations nationwide and help so many more communities fulfill their missions through effective fundraising support, shares Christina. “As the first Filipina to join Global’s consulting team, I’m hopefully opening the door for many more while bringing my community-centered approach to fundraising across Canada.”

Christina’s career has spanned grassroots women’s and youth organizations, healthcare, higher education, arts and culture and immigrant settlement. Her expertise lies in supporting diaspora, newcomer and equity-deserving communities, helping non-profits strengthen capacity and build sustainable fundraising strategies that align with their values.

At the heart of Christina’s approach is a simple but powerful belief: fundraising shouldn’t be mysterious or intimidating. She works alongside teams to ensure everyone—from frontline staff to board members—feels confident and equipped to contribute meaningfully to fundraising success. Her goal is always to leave organizations stronger than she found them.

“I’m delighted to welcome Christina Panis to Global Philanthropic Canada as the newest member of our Pacific team,” adds Jeff Sodowsky, Vice President, Pacific and Senior Consultant. “Her values-driven approach and richly informed perspective will be a tremendous asset to our clients in today’s dynamic philanthropic landscape — and beyond her expertise, she’s simply a joy to have at the table.”

Guy Mallabone, CEO & President, is also ecstatic to welcome Christina, sharing, “Her focus on revenue development through values-aligned partnerships, strategic grant development, and community-centred campaigns makes her a perfect fit in providing added value to our clients.”

Highlights of Christina’s Work:

  • Designed a fundraising strategy for an immigrant settlement organization.
  • Supported charitable readiness for a national Filipino organization.
  • Longtime strategic advisor to Co. Erasga Dance Society (since 2012).
  • Played key fundraising roles at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
  • Helped steward a $2M innovation gift and secure a $200K award for Indigenous students at University of British Columbia.

Christina was honoured by the City of Vancouver in 2011 as one of twelve “Remarkable Women, Community Builders.” Today, she serves as co-chair of the board at Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society and mentors emerging women leaders through Dress for Success Vancouver and AFP Vancouver. She holds a BA in Sociology and Psychology from UBC and an Executive MBA from SFU and is currently deepening her expertise with training in philanthropic advising to support values-aligned giving strategies. She’s fluent in English and Tagalog, with working knowledge of French and brings a truly global, inclusive perspective to every project she touches.
