Joining Global’s Ontario team in 2018, Peter is a graduate of Western University’s Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program and Department of History(BHons) with nearly 30+ years of experience in non-profit management and fundraising, including senior management roles in post-secondary education and in health care, Peter has consistently pursued the goal of increasing the capacity of the non-profit sector. Peter has nearly unparalleled knowledge of the Niagara donor base.

As a consultant, teacher and researcher, Peter has successfully transferred knowledge through consultations, teaching, in workshops and presentations in the Niagara Region, Southwestern Ontario and in the US. An expert in donor pipeline development, Peter has focused on analysing the lifecycle of donor engagement, recognizing that connections start with even the earliest awareness a potential donor has for a charity.

A pioneer in the field of prospect research, Peter built the donor pipeline from scratch at the Ivey Business School at Western, providing critical strategic support for the successful $78 million Ivey Campaign, the largest single faculty campaign of its time in Canada.

At Brock University, Peter again helped bring a fundraising operation from a standing start to success, resulting in the completion of the $90 million Bold New Brock Campaign. As Executive Director, Alumni and Development in Brock’s 50th anniversary year, Peter provided strategic leadership through an unprecedented effort to engage the Brock alumni community.

Peter proposed, developed and delivered a ground-breaking graduate level course on prospect research and fundraising in the MLIS program at Western University. He is co- author of the Globe and Mail bestselling business book ‘Excellence in Fundraising in Canada’.

Along with his degrees from Western, he has also completed a finance and accounting executive course at the Ivey Business School; the CAGP Advanced Gift Planning course; and the American Marketing Association Market Research course.

Fun fact: Peter welcomes any major snowfall. Snow = snowshoeing!
