Kent brings more than 40 years of leadership in fund development and higher education advancement to his role at Global, which he joined in 2025. Throughout his career, he has led successful fundraising and engagement strategies across a wide range of institutions and nonprofit organizations.

Kent has held senior advancement roles including Vice President for University Advancement and Development at Trine University, Associate Vice President for University Development at Loyola University Chicago, and Vice President for Advancement at Goshen College. He also served internationally as a Country Representative for the Mennonite Central Committee.

As a consultant over the past seven years, Kent has taken on interim advancement leadership roles through the Registry for College and University Presidents, guiding fundraising programs at institutions such as The University of Texas at Tyler, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and Goshen College. He has also advised faith-based and service-focused nonprofits on development strategy and philanthropic growth.

Kent’s background blends legal, theological, and liberal arts training. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Lewis & Clark Law School, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Goshen College.

Fun fact: After playing tennis as a university athlete, Kent began a lifetime of running and completed six marathons while also participating in dozens of 10k and 5k road races. More recently he discovered the joy of walking.
