Holiday Recipe: Mallabone Stampede Chili
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 lb. sausage meat
- 3 medium onions
- ¼ cup chopped celery
- 1 -28 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 250 ml. tomato soup
- 250 ml. beef broth
- 540 ml. red kidney beans (rinsed)
- 3 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- A sprinkle of cayenne powder
- 340 ml. jar fire roasted red peppers (chopped)
Directions
- Chop onions and celery and sauté until onions are translucent.
- Brown ground beef and sausage and drain off fat.
- Add onions and celery into a dutch oven or crock pot.
- Add the other ingredients and cook ( 3-4 hours in a dutch oven, 7-8 hours in a crock pot)
- Cool and leave for at least one day.
- Reheat and serve.
