Job Opportunity: Marketing & Communications Coordinator (part-time contract, flexible, remote)

From annual giving, to strategic counsel, to prospect research and everything in between, we are here to help catapult philanthropic organizations and elevate their missions.

The Position: This position reports to the Director, Marketing & Communications. It is part-time and remote requiring 11 hours per week. 40% of the time will be spent proofing and editing fundraising documents such as proposals, in both English and French. 60% of the time will be spent supporting the Marketing & Communications department with external facing objectives. The position is task-based, not schedule-based. The successful applicant may complete responsibilities during evenings, weekends or as their schedule allows, but will be required to have weekly virtual check-ins for the management of workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • 40% of time is allocated to proofreading and editing fundraising-related documents in both English and French.
  • 60% of time is allocated to supporting the Director, Marketing & Communications with departmental tasks including but not limited to:
    • Perform website editing and maintenance in both English and French.
    • Design and execution of social media content. (Video, image & text)
    • Assist with the design and creation of collateral materials.
    • Support podcast creative, execution and rollout.
    • Provide feedback and ideas on improvements to the execution of Marketing & Communications initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in French and English. Highly skilled communicator, writer and editor in both languages.
  • Experience in digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Design skills: Adobe and/or Canva.
  • Self-starter. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Quick learner.
  • Creative problem-solver.
  • Access to consistent, reliable internet and computer.

 

Bonus skills (not required but nice to have!):

  • Knowledge of the Canadian philanthropic sector and/or service-based marketing.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4.
  • Experience with website editing and/or design is a plus, (HTML or Elementor).
  • Video editing skills.
  • Experience with Mailchimp.
  • Experience with podcast marketing and/or audio editing.
