Quebec’s Chantale Lavoie Joins Global Family as Senior Consultant

Chantale Lavoie is a seasoned fundraising expert who exudes a charming and unique combination of warmth, enthusiasm, wisdom and professionalism. Having recently returned to her home province of Quebec after serving as Executive Director, Advancement & Events at Emily Carr University in British Columbia for seven years, she is poised to share her expertise learned alongside diverse organizations across Canada with organizations in her region. Her abilities to provide counsel in both English and French make her a powerful ally to have in your organization’s corner as you look for inspiring initiatives to elevate your mission.

With over twenty-five years of fundraising expertise in arts and culture, private foundations, animal protection as well as post-secondary education, Chantale became a role model and staff mentor, putting her colleagues at Emily Carr University before herself. A committed supporter of Emily Carr students and alumni, she is a passionate advocate of philanthropic development and stewardship having implemented a plethora of policies and procedures and expanding the philanthropic impact and reach of the institution.

Chantale has raised millions for student support to help ensure student’s academic success. Her passion extends to museums and art galleries, Indigenous projects and animal & environmental protection. She has supported the creation of endowments, managed large investment portfolios, and supported legacy giving. She thrives when managing start-up projects where she can flex her creative muscle. She is agile with constraints, energetic and flourishes when handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Chantale is a proficient team leader and policy maker, an agile project manager, and an expert in governance and board engagement. Event management is one of her many fortés having leading dozens of events throughout her career. She serves as the dynamic Board Chair of the only French Theatre company in Vancouver, Théâtre La Seizième, where she has volunteered since 2019. Chantale is an advocate for Indigenous rights and possesses a significant understanding of and respect for Indigenous event protocols in BC.

Lover of the arts in all its forms, she has worked with diverse organisations large and small. Her work with Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal Museum of Archeology and History where she led a major fundraising campaign, the Montreal Biennale and the Daniel Langlois Foundation are just a few examples of her experience in this sector. She is also an active member of AFP and CAGP.
