Michelle Johnson, major gift and donor relations specialist, appointed Senior Consultant on Vancouver Island

The Pacific team is overjoyed to welcome the inspiring and accomplished Michelle Johnson as a team member to the roster of Senior Consultants based in British Columbia. Residing on Vancouver Island, her deep commitment to intersectional justice and ability to adapt and apply major gift best practices for a wide variety of missions are key drivers for Michelle.

Michelle has worked as National Donor Relations Manager with the Wilderness Committee, as well as consulting with Open Media on monthly giving and advising leadership on major gifts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trent University, a Marketing Citation with distinction in fundraising from British Columbia Institute of Technology and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

A trilingual consultant, she speaks Spanish, French and English. Since 1996, she has secured millions for mission-building creating profitable and sustainable gift programs with little or no initial budget. She consistently attracts abundance and increases the bottom line by creating key income-generating programs in service of mission wherever she goes. This has been to the benefit of human rights, the arts, at-risk youth, privacy and the open internet, climate, health, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and in pursuit of wilderness and wildlife preservation.

Michelle brings a unique perspective to philanthropy. A future major donor herself, she understands what female donors are searching for when choosing a charity to fulfill their most sacred and final wish in the form of a will or estate plan. Practiced at fulfilling and translating wishes into gifts, she makes the process easy for you, your donors, your board and your staff to create meaningful relationships, where wishes bring current and future major gifts to life.

Jeff Sodowsky, Vice President Pacific is pleased to add Michelle to the growing Pacific team saying, “Michelle brings valuable and unique perspectives to our collaborations.  I am pleased that more charities will now be able to access them directly in working with her as a Senior Consultant.”

Michelle adds, “I am pleased to join Global Philanthropic Canada to attract and realize more philanthropic wishes for both donors and charity partners alike. The goal is to elevate mission and more fully embrace my role as a leader, fundraiser and shared community resource.”

“I’m thrilled to welcome Michelle to the Global Philanthropic Canada team,” says Guy Mallabone, CEO and President of Global Philanthropic Canada. “Her commitment to major gift fundraising and experience with a broad scope of organizations seeking to inspire this world to be a better place results in huge benefits to our clients and their organizational missions.”
