30-Year Capital Campaign Expert Appointed Sr. Consultant

Jim Bindon, who has helped raise more than $100 million over a 30-year fundraising career, has been appointed Senior Consultant at Global Philanthropic Canada, effective immediately. Jim, who is based in North Vancouver, BC, joins the Pacific team.

“Jim’s skillset is a real value-add to our team,” said CEO Guy Mallabone.  “Jim has raised a ton of money through capital and annual campaigns. He’s also adept at harnessing digital technologies to recognize and steward donors. Clients will enjoy working with him and capitalizing on his deep knowledge and understanding.”

Jim has built his career serving the healthcare, education, cultural, social service, and faith-based sectors across Canada. He began his career as a consultant with Community Counselling Service where he worked on campaigns for Saskatoon City Hospital and Meaford General Hospital. He has also served, either as a consultant or staff member, Richmond Hospital Foundation, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Rick Hansen Foundation, Buffalo-Toronto Public Media, Canadian Film Centre, Toronto Grace Foundation, Centenary Health Centre (Scarborough), Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Montreal, Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Quebec City), and the Anglican Diocese of Niagara.

Jim is an active volunteer and currently a Board member of The Pacific Cinematheque where he has served two terms as Chair. He has also volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity in Vancouver, Toronto, and Winnipeg. He is a past director of the Downtown East Side Studio Society in Vancouver.

Jim is also an active volunteer of CAGP, the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. He has served as a member of the Vancouver Executive and is a member and past Chair of the Vancouver Leave A Legacy Committee.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in Montreal and a Certificate in New Media Project Management from Centennial College in Toronto.
